pH-Responsive Polymersome Microparticles as Smart Cyclodextrin-Releasing Agents Just Accepted in Bio
I am overjoyed to have had my latest paper just accepted for publication in Biomacromolecules. In this work I lay out my core hypothesis about the overall project, that is, I can fabricate a CD-based polymersome system which is stable under physiological conditions and it disassembles at acidic pH. Some preliminary biological assays such as cytotoxcitiy and cellular uptake are presented.
I am conscious of the fact that this is still quite a way far from demonstrating lysosomal delivery of CDs but I think it is very encouraging and definitely a step forward in that direction.
I am very grateful to the co-authours of this all-Turkish work: prof Yagci (ITU), prof Timur (Ege Uni) and the fantastic Dr Ece Bayir (Ege Uni).
I am not looking forward to investigating further the biological activities of this system together with the other collaborators
