Rare Disease Day 2019

Today I would like to dedicate my blog entry to Rare Disease Day which is held on the last day of February every year to raise awareness of rare diseases. If you have followed my research so far Niemann-Pick Type C is one of those rare genetic disorders with an incidence of 1 per 100.000 people.

I feel very passionate about this, not only because it's the subject of my research. After having participated in the UK conference on NPC I feel very close to all those kids who are affected and to their families.

I wish that my research could give at least a little contribution towards this cause!

I have now put the #ShowYourRare on my Facebook profile and I am planning to attend the Rare Disease Day in Istanbul soon.
