Getting started!
So, my grant agreement is finally signed! I'm really excited that this is all coming together so smoothly.
I feel I have to thank SO MANY people for getting this project off the ground. Starting from those who have proof-read the many versions of my proposal to TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), from Istanbul Technical University to the fantastic prof Yusuf Yagci and - of course - the European Commission.
I'm also very honoured to have received endorsement from the International Niemann-Pick Disease Alliance (INPDA) and I look forward to sharing my results with the wider network of scientists working on NPC.
Personally this feels like a dream coming true to do some exciting science with such an important societal impact.
Now it's time to get my acts together and do some cool stuff in the lab.
First big appointment is the international cyclodextrin symposium in Japan at the end of April...SOOO exciting!
